Late Carboniferous Earth reconstruction (early Pangea)

A realistic-ish 3D model / artwork of Earth during the Moscovian, 310 million years ago. A world where the atmosphere had far more oxygen than today, bugs and amphibians were giants, and strange plants deposited all the coal we burn today.

Texture maps were made using Gprojector, Photoshop, Wilbur and Gimp. 3D scene was put together in Blender.
